Considering Museums For Art, Fashion and Sustenance…and maybe even some latex

Scouring the internet, drawing on our own experiences, and surely listening to the conversations of friends, family, and Dawnamatrix clients, we learn a great deal about the world of alternative fashion that our latex wardrobe rendering has introduced us to. So, when we stumbled across this recent repost “travel idea,” of an old ArtNews article, we surely took notice.

Considering the above fashion designers picks (Maria Grazia Chiuri of Dior, Norbert Stumpfl of Brioni and Giambattista Valli among them) of favorite museums to visit, (the Louvre and MoMA surely included) the article also highlights what it calls “hidden gems,” and quite a few places we hadn’t heard of.

In Milan, the Pinacoteca di Brera, built by Piermarini, located in the Palazzo di Brera, is mentioned. Masterpieces by Caravaggio, Tintoretto, Raffaello hang here, as does Hayez’s ‘The Kiss.’

In Tokyo, the 21_21 Design Sight is a museum that hosts many of the country’s extraordinary art exhibitions, as the building itself is a work of art, built into the earth.

(A picture of this museum heads this blog).

England’s Tate Modern is also indicated. This museum’s sheer scale, from the industrialized proportions the building is based on (built as it originally was as a power station), makes it yet another architectural marvel containing equally marvelous art. Its top-floor bar with stunning expansive views of London is also not to be missed.

There is the Calico Museum of Textiles in Ahmedabad (might one see some latex here?) as well as the Musée des Arts Décoratifs (Museum of Decorative) in Paris, which has a really cool website, see here. The Brooklyn Museum in New York was noted, with its “Monet and Venice” opening at the beginning of October.

Familiar as we are with latex runway shows in museums, as well as showing our wares on the floor of a car show, we know you can view great art, fashion, all kinds of exhibits in lots of spaces, well-known or not.

We wish you God’s speed and safe travels wherever you might find yourself.
