IT’S That Most Wonderful Time Of The Year…For A Latex Wedding Dress

I might seem slightly early, but Bustle just posted this 7 Wedding Dress Trends You’ll See On Every Bride In 2026 and I thought I’d weigh in from the latex couture side of street.

As even a Miranda Priestly can’t rightly predict what is going to be hot and what not (and not only for brides but for fashion in general) we should read what Bustle has to offer with as much attention to our own tastes as possible. As the above article suggests, it can surely be “nerve-wracking: saying yes to the dress,” for brides, and Bustle offers suggestions as much on what a wedding gown could be made of (which we will take as the last point) as its style, embellishments and even shoe wear. And even though they are staying strictly to seven trends, the overall takeaway here seems to be that for 2026….everything is ‘in.’

Suggestions range from the bride taking advantage of the ‘bubble hem resurgence,’ as much as her adding embellishments from crystals, sequins and other gemstones, all the way to feather trimming on her wedding gown. Bustier and corsets are ‘in,’ as are what the article calls “flowly fabrics” like chiffon, satin and that wedding dress staple, lace. As far as accessorizing, Bustle suggests two bridal shoe trends ‘stand out’ (sorry, couldn’t resist) There’s the stiletto for the bride looking for style over comfort (although we have seen a latex stiletto or two that are both sexy and comfortable). But just as many brides are choosing from a wide array of a more comfortable (and surely lower-heeled or no hell at all) shoe, even before they slip them off for continued dancing or take to the obligatory flip flops with their bridesmaids.

But back to textiles.

It’s no surprise Bustle didn’t mention what we have been posting now as a true modern bridal gown alternative…the latex wedding dress. With few restrictions on color, style, length, from styling your own bespoke version (granted, this takes time and some sure back and forth between designer and client) or plucking from the very many available today (just see the link above) we dare say what’s most ‘trending’ from the sure trend of alternative wedding gowns made of latex (and latex wedding accessories) is…individuality.

So, thanks Bustle, but don’t forget the latex.
