Considering Latex Colors After The Most Colorful Season Of All

Tis’ the season that just swung by us all, it was no surprise to find plenty of festive alternative clothing adorning our more famous celebrities’ equally famous frames, from lace, latex to leather. And when it came to the latex we read about in blogs, saw on TV shows and across TikTok, whether it was Kylie Minogue posing in a red latex dress for her recent Christmas release (as well wearing a red latex dress, with long sleeves that ‘fell’ into a mermaid skirt, see here ) or just this week when influencer Kate Cassidy posted a pic wearing a shorter red latex dress, we consider once again, what color really is best for our favorite textile.

The answer…any.

When we began things here at Dawnamatrix deigns we were influenced by and hopefully, humbly, somehow influenced fetish fashions (I also took great inspiration from Japanese fashion culture, specifically the kimonos). Before latex became so ubiquitous across the pop landscape, the couture we created and most dealt with, for business and pleasure, was quite often for a specific set of folks populating specific events, runway shows and photo arrays. Simple, sexy, elegant, the people either amassing a latex wardrobe from our catalogue or ordering bespoke latex pieces were buying a lot of black.

But early on we were as much interested in various latex patterns, as we were textures and color, and began to incorporate all manner of design and bright colors into what we were making. Bolstered by companies out there producing ever better sheet latex, technological advances like 3D printing, the world was our latex oyster when it came to what we would come to imagine and render.

And are still imagining.

Pretty much how it breaks down from a basic latex color perspective is that there are the two ends of the spectrum, black and white; black always representing a classic fetish take, white, in its own way, a bolder choice. Red grabs attention to be sure, and yes, works for holiday unwrapping (whether one is in latex or not), but blue we’ve seen work across various outfits and latex accessories. Green too has its day, with the color often associated with an eco-friendly feeling. And yellow bright, like white, wrapping the wearer with a more confectionary fun vibe, for a day doing whatever.

Enjoy 2026 in any bright way you can, knowing that an array of latex colors are there for your enjoyment.
