With all the latex couture we report on, surely ladies get lots of attention. But when you have a Lady Gaga stepping out in some new fantastic alt. fashion creation, a Cardi B romping through a video in super sexy latex gear, or some actress teasing the award show red carpet paparazzi by mix and matching a classic gown with some latex accessories, we take notice. Not to mention what happens with all the fetish faithful and cosplayers we so love to dress with various Dawnamatrix designs, bespoke and just right out of our catalogue.
But when a gentleman steps out in style, be it in latex or not, and maybe well beyond the mainstream, again, we have to take notice…as it seems the world did this past Friday night over the Jake Paul and Mike Tyson boxing match.
As you may have seen, heard, or might even be weighing in across social media presently (and with an event like this, we knew that people would be weighing in on social media, before, during, and after the fight) YouTube star/ entrepreneur, 27-year-old Jake Paul went toe-to-toe in a boxing ring with 58-year-old heavyweight champion Mike Tyson. And beyond the ballyhoo, 3-part Netflix mini-series about the showdown (the boxing match was also the first live sporting streaming event Netflix broadcast), the weigh-in name-calling, (with Iron Mike slapping Paul at one point), what got plenty of folks talking was Jack Paul’s one-million-dollar boxing outfit.
Describing his shorts, shoes, and jacket as the “most expensive boxing outfit of all time,” Paul’s outfit featured 380 carats of diamonds, all created by Surgeon. His jacket also featured the logo of Paul’s (a fantastic self-promoter that he is) new body care line, W by Jake Paul.
Just to add a little more fun with his accessories, at the official weigh-in on Thursday, Paul sported a diamond-spiked ear covering. “I’m not getting my ******* bit off on Friday night,” the younger fighter said referring to Tyson’s 1997 fight against Evander Holyfield when Tyson bit off a piece of Holyfield’s ear. Proving that surely, accessories can make a fashion statement in more ways than one.
