As to be expected for this year’s All Hallow’s, the range of celebrity costumes, the textiles used in making them (yes, latex included) and the many posts about them enticed us all. Here is a run down of just a few.
Let’s start with the celebrity grandghostie to it all, Heidi Klum. While teasing with posts across the month of her costume’s construction, Klum and husband Tom Kaulitz finally managed their big reveal at the supermodel’s annual party at the Hard Rock New York Hotel. Klum was dressed as mythical Greek monster Medusa, Tom Kaulitz a Greek soldier turned to stone. Of course, Klum outfitted herself with the requisite Medusa snake headpiece, a mouthful of fangs and a long serpentine tail.
Megan Thee Stallion, quite the fan of anime it seems (the singer announced her own anime series coming to Prime during an appearance at DreamCon last May 30 while cosplaying as Bleach from Yoruichi Shihōin) engaged in more cosplay for Halloween. She went out in horns, wings and more dressed as Drolta Tzuentes from the popular Castlevania series.
Janelle Monáe went as the Cat in the Hat. Outfitted under prosthetics and lots of black and white fur the singer/actress/rapper was outfitted purr-fectly as the classic Dr. Seuss character.
Christina Aguilera dressed in a costume she called “Shipwreck-Tina.” Wearing a bespoke 3D ship-shaped headband printed by designer Chrishabana, her wavy blonde “shipwrecked hair” under it, the rest of Xtina’s pirate-inspired outfit included a sleeveless while ruffle dress, lacy black bra, corset, fishnets and knee-high boots.
She also posted with the pics: “Now Ursula’s coming to destroy everything,” referencing The Little Mermaid’s infamous sea witch.
And not to be undone by the ladies above, Ed Sheeran was quite unrecognizable as Pennywise from It. A series of photos and videos of him were captured as he strolled around New York City.
