Not that anyone should be surprised that there were some cool wardrobe styles strutted about during and at the after-party, at the premier of the new Deadpool & Wolverine film, but latex couture adorning two of the party’s attendees?
Blake Lively and Gigi Hadid showed up pretty much hand-in-hand for both festivities at Lincoln Center in New York wearing great styles, and notable textiles. Firstly, the best friends walked the red carpet into the movie showing their support for the colors the two main characters wear in the movie. Lively, wife of Deadpool Ryan Reynolds (and rumored playing Lady Deadpool in the movie) wore an off-the-shoulder red bespoke Atelier Versace jumpsuit. This stunning wardrobe piece was coated with material meant to look like latex. Hadid, in her homage to Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, wore another bespoke Atelier Versace piece, a yellow Miu Miu with a bandana top.
It was at the after-party though for the movie where things got even more interesting in what the woman wore.
And surely more latex-y.
Stepping free of their cosplay dreaming, Lively switched into a blue and red latex Balmain minidress trimmed with red enamel roses. Hadid also switched into a new latex-led look, wearing a striking yellow latex coat over a black bodysuit, accessorizing with a small purse.
Where the women ducked into to change, that they would at all (and in latex at that!) surely was a surprise. But as expected (and we are happy for it) not only did the besties think it best to take the second half of the night in latex, there was plenty of paparazzi around to snap pics of the women looking so smashing.
Deadpool & Wolverine opens today and there is sure to be plenty of fantastic cosplay-drooling moments with so many superheroes suiting up for this third Deadpool romp. Blake Lively and Ggig Hadid surely suited up very well themselves this week.
