Once again, our latex couture, and so many other stunning alt. fashions, got the star treatment at another World of Wearable Art show.
In this 2026 version of WOW, titled GLO!, our Harajuku fashion-inspired finalist garment, Kabukimono, won a Judge’s Commendation. As always, when it comes to the approbation/awards/love WOW has bestowed on Dawnamatrix over the past few years, we were thrilled. To be part of such a fantastic show, mingle with so many great designers, be wowed, in person, by all the fashion creations, really is a specific pleasure we enjoy in no other place than New Zealand in the fall. The gathering of so much global talent, from designers to stagecraft people, to musicians, to models, to hair and makeup crews, to producers and directors, to really, too many amazingly dedicated artisans to name, is so astounding.

Even after the many years we have attended, you really never get used to the event.
This highlight video clip https://youtu.be/_L0jz0lr-AU?is=9IjkoUSdxdMefXGG will give you a brief, yet good overview. It shows the proceedings, better than I could ever describe; the dance, music, fashion, presentation, whimsy and traditions truly coming through. At the 1:18 mark, you will see our Kabukimono, as it was presented by a stunning model, but watch the whole video for the full effect; you’ll be glad you did. The ending ‘Bizarre Bra’ section is especially fun!
In addition to all this pageantry, our 2025 Supreme WOW Award-winning entry Tsukumogami was on display in the Intercontinental Hotel Ballroom at the Taste of WOW event, a series of high teas and dinners featuring guest speakers and offering menus inspired by WOW garments.

Yes, the World of Wearable Art just keeps bringing the wow-factor at every turn, and every year. And as we always declare, we were so very proud and humbled to be part of the show.
