As we have said on plenty of occasions, the latex gifts for us keep a’gifting’ when it comes to the World of Wearable Art competition. And this was certainly evident at Tampa’s Dunedin Fine Art Center’s sold-out ‘Wearable Art’ 2oth anniversary show last Saturday.
As this article clearly shows, the DFAC enjoyed yet another sold-out installation, this one showcasing the bespoke creations from the WOW show we have been so proudly aligned with (and have won plenty of awards from) these past few years. Yes, as the article says, WOW surely tickles the boundaries of art and fashion, often “blurring the line” between the two, and we agree: the competition sees all of us participating designers pushing “the boundaries of what the human body can achieve when it becomes a canvas.”
We certainly see our work this way when it comes to what we do yearly at WOW.
We were thrilled to be in the mix down at the Tampa show, which we attended alongside so many deserving alternative fashion designers, surely mixing and matching all kinds of textiles and design. And we are as thrilled to make it into the mix of the yearly WOW shows, standing sleeve to collar with so many global artisans showing their finest at the grand-daddy WOW show held in New Zealand…as we will do again this year.
As we last mentioned here, Dawnamatrix Designs has once again made the finals of the 2026 edition of WOW, which indeed celebrates twenty years of the event’s competition. Called GLO!, WOW happens in Wellington, starting with the award show on 9/17 and stretching to 10/4.
And if we know World of Wearable Art, that run, just shy of a month, will surely not be all anyone will hear about GLO! for the year.
