2025 Fashion Highlights: Good, Bad, Naked and The Latex-Y

We must admit that it is less about any latex news than the top picture of this blog from The Face, which had us jumping off from the piece’s 2025 year-in-fashion review. Agree with this round-up of fashion highlights for the past year or not (good highlights or bad), there’s no denying some of what happened in the world of fashion or around it was at least interesting.

Although not a good sign to be sure for the progression of model size inclusivity, according to Vogue Business’s Size Inclusivity Report, 97.1 per cent of models in the US in 2025 were sized 0 – 4, 2 per cent 6 – 12, and a small grouping at 14+. Yes, we seem to have a long way still to go where this particular concern is concerned.

As much as we want latex to reign supreme, jeans popularity continued to spike this past year. From Kendrick Lamar wearing bootcut denim during the Super Bowl halftime show, as well as surfing the Sydney Sweeney genes/jeans controversy, the craze Beyoncé seemed to prompt was surely alive and well in 2025.

Then there was controversy when Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited President Trump for the first time, not wearing a suit (he wore a long-sleeve T-shirt emblazoned with a Ukrainian military insignia, instead). Meeting with Trump again, though Zelensky wore a black military suit, quipping that while this time he was in different clothes, Trump was wearing the same suit.

Knowing lots about see-through, as well as hip-hugging latex, how could we ever damn the ‘naked dress trend’? From Margot Robbie to Julia Fox to so many others, the daring-to-bare as much as possible seemed to be the fashion statement of the year. And although Cannes banned the trend on their red carpet this year, we still saw lots more of our celebrities than ever before in France, and beyond.

As far as latex goes, as we reported throughout the year, there were some great sightings of our fave textile worn by our best and brightest. From Kylie to Kim, Christmas cheer from Kylie Minogue, Lady Gaga’s “Mayhem,” J.Lo at the races, and our own tickle or latex costuming across Japanese Pro Wrestlers. And let’s not forget us winning the big award at WOW this year!

As 2025 bows out, we can only hope for even more styling variety, new/old trends, and fantasy fashion updates next year. From alternative runway shows to cosplay reveals, latex innovations, all of it and more, let’s hope for the very best New Year for us all in 2026.
