Met Announces, Wicked Red Carpet, The Return of Giorgio’s New Year’s Eve

Wishing for some latex couture in the stories below we give you: the announcement of the upcoming Met Costume Institute exhibition, the stunning red-carpet fashions seen at the various Wicked: For Good premieres, and hearing of the return of L.A.’s most glamorous New Year’s parties.

Firstly, the Met. The upcoming Spring exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art, which sets off each annual Met Gala, has just been announced. Titled Costume Art, the show is said to be all about “magnifying the dressed body,” and will juxtapose objects from the museum’s collection with a sampling of 33,000 fashion items. The 2026 exhibition will be staged in a new gallery space, featuring four interconnected areas. The groups the costumes and wares will be featured in are: the “Naked Body,” “Classical Body,” “Anatomical Body,” “Mortal Body,” “Reclaimed Body,” and the “Pregnant Body.”

Leaning into high fashion and some surely darker stylings, the cast of Wicked: For Good showed off some rather stunning sartorial flare across the red carpets of London, Paris, Singapore, with New York being the last stop of their new movie’s various premieres.

Wizard Jeff Goldblum was seen in a Saint Laurent tuxedo that he draped with a feathered coat. In one instance where she made the news (and there were many where she did) Cynthia Erivo wore a Dior Spring 2026 black silk cape and skirt. Ariana Grande wore three different black gowns before hitting New York.

Michelle Yeoh sported a tornado-inspired gown in Singapore, but later a yellow gown.

At the Big Apple end of the yellow brick road. Grande and Erivo locked arm-in-arm, with Grande in a bespoke Vuitton bubble-hem, fuchsia creation; Erivo was in her own bespoke black Dior ballgown with a semi-sheer turtleneck bodice.

And in another recent announcement, Bryan Rabin says he will be resurrecting his infamous “Black and White Masquerade Ball at The West Hollywood Edition.” Rabin, who launched L.A. clubs such as The Lounge, Cherry, Diamond Dogs at H.Wood, and Giorgio’s at The Standard (to name a few), is king of L.A. nightlife. He has also produced private parties for W Magazine, Harry Winston, and Paul Smith, who’ve boasted guests including Madonna, Thierry Mugler, Leonardo DiCaprio, Boy George, and Daft Punk.

The upcoming, one-night-only party at Giorgio’s will feature a Black and White Ball, two ticketed dinner seatings at the hotel’s Ardor restaurant, and party-only admission running until 2 a.m. The party’s main DJ will be an OG from Studio 54, Nicky Siano, with Susanne Bartsch co-hosting, and Joey Arias performing two sets.

Surely this will be a wicked evening not to be missed for fans, fashionistas, and everybody else who loves and wears costume art.
