Be it Daily News pics of cosplayers dressed in their latex, lace, and PVC, blogs about toy debuts, or celebrity-filled panels talked over on various YouTube shows, New York Comic Con 2025 just passed, and the reviews and reveals are in.
As expected, when it comes to cosplay dress up, tons of fans came to The Jacob K. Javits Convention Center on the Hudson River in Manhattan dressed as Fantastic Four characters, Superman, and a whole bunch more of Marvel and DC heroes and villains. And as with all cons of this type, the New York City version supports and champions anime fans as strongly as any other, so you can be assured there were plenty of folks dressed as characters from the Poppy Playtime Series, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and so many others.
Marvel and DC filled the days with panels. Fans got the latest skinny on Season 2 of Marvel Animation’s “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” as well as “X-Men: The Animated Series.” For live action, there was the first showing of the trailer for “Daredevil: Born Again” season 2, with the show’s Charlie Cox and Krysten Ritter, showing up at the con to talk about it. And fans also got their first look at the new “Game of Thrones” spinoff, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Sir Ben Kingsley also attended to discuss the upcoming “Wonder Man,” with the first official poster for this Disney+ series being revealed at the con.
It is often said that the person with the most toys wins. And at all comic cons, toys are as important as seeing a celeb or joining in on a panel. This year, Hasbro revealed a number of new Star Wars toys. Funko was, as always, on hand with exclusives, and there was also merchandise from Walmart’s toy collection.
For the long weekend, and really beyond it, fans of the fantastic truly love and support all that Comic Con has to offer, no matter what city that con happens to be in. Surely, are all looking forward to the year ahead, from the panels, debuts, and reveals we were afforded in New York City last week to ….infinity and beyond.
