Once again there are many alternative–even some latex–fashion stories, to run through this week.
Surely, this weekend, the premiere of the Wicked movie made lots of news. In Europe, the stars came out for the first showing of that movie, and as to be expected, celebrities showed up on the Wicked red carpet rather well decked out. And some wearing latex…
TV/radio presenter Amanda Holden, who has been known to wear latex couture to many of her public outings, wore latex leggings and a trench…in Wicked green. Actress Hana Mai showed up for the movie’s premiere in a see-thru pink latex corset with a scalloped hem. Both were stunningly smashing and showed off our fave textile at its finest.
Last week, Kim Kardashian posted a series of pictures and video with a gold Tesla robot named Optimus, while slinking in and around an equally gold Tesla Cybercab. K.K. was dressed in stockings, Balenciaga tights, and a puffy black jacket. As Kim K often does, the video post gained lots of attention.
And speaking of Kim, she and her sister Kourtney seemed to have made up with Dolce & Gabbana. The ladies did indeed have a dust-up with the famous designer, which was shown to the world across episodes of The Kardashians. But for now, the ladies and their SKIMS brand are friends. Kim posted on pictures on Instagram of her and Kourtney wearing leopard-print bodysuits and lingerie saying, “The timeless Italian allure of Dolce & Gabbana meets signature SKIMS fabrics and figure-shaping styles. The limited-edition collection launches on Tuesday, November 19 at 9AM ET on SKIMS.com, in SKIMS stores and in select #DolceGabbana boutiques.”
And lastly, for the geek in all of us (and cosplayers too) it seems the most recent “Bid Long and Prosper” Star Trek auction from Julien’s Auctions saw record-setting auction numbers. The highest bid was for Captain Kirk’s “hero phaser,’ selling for a ‘stunning’ $910,000 .
His communicator came in second, selling for $780,000.
