How about another one of our semi-regular fashion news roundups, be it about latex, alternate fashion, or regular wacky wardrobe happenings…
First, there is the icon Debbie Harry and Gucci.
Ionic lead singer, songwriter, and co-founder of equally iconic rock band Blondie, Debbie has a sure style sensibility all her own. She fronts the new Gucci “We Will Always Have London” campaign. Photographed by Nan Goldin, there are various pictures here of the “Heart Of Glass” singer riding in the backseat of a car wearing a white blouse and pants and showing off the new Gucci Blondie bag.

We are a few weeks away from our yearly Halloween costume round-up but for now…
On the 50th Anniversary Saturday Night Live show that just aired last Saturday, there was a sketch/mock commercial, poking fun at the “Spirit Halloween” costume store chain. If you happen to live in the US or Canada, these popup stores are rather ubiquitous across the landscape, selling all manner of All Hallow’s stuff and costumes. In their usual style, the SNL skit made fun of the store with some broad semi-satirical jabs.
Spirit struck back none soon after on X, tweeting: We are great at raising things back from the dead and accompanied this with a photo of a costume that they called an “Irrelevant 50-year-old TV show.” The label on the costume claimed it included “dated references, unknown cast members, and shrinking ratings.”
Uh oh, the gloves are off.
And lastly, striking a high note for the Philippines…
Filipino fashion designers Lenora “Lenlen” Cabili and Fernandina “Ditta” Sandico, will be highlighted in an upcoming and unprecedented exhibit titled “Prelude to Pinagmulan.” The cultural fashion event will precede the Philippine Ballet Theatre show called Ibalon, happening on Oct 27th.
The fashion exhibit, free to the public, will highlight designs created from the culture’s indigenous textiles and also feature tribal Filipino music.
