We are all well aware of just how wonderful a latex skirt, catsuit or wearing some latex accessory feels under the glaring summer sun. It’s always been our contention, that we wearers of this most scrumptious material will come out in full force and show off come rain or shine, winter or summer. Dawnamatrix celebrated a summer time outing (even before the actual beginning of summer) at Summer Jam 2017, this weekend just past.
Working alongside celebrity stylist Misa Hylton we dressed Kima from the group TOTAL. As you can see from the pictures here (and video) the hip hop star wore our custom made kimono jacket. Her band mates were equally decked out in their outfits, as coordinated in their wardrobe as in their dance moves and singing. The event, sponsored by radio station New York’s “Hot-97” (and held clear across the country from us, so we couldn’t unfortunately attend) began with Jidenna singing his fan favorite “Long Live Chief,” working the crowd expertly. Reggae legend Shaggy performed as did Joey Crack, while Remy hit the stage to invite lady rappers like Lil Kim, Queen Latifah and MC Lyte to join her.
Besides TOTAL, Migos hit the stage fresh from dining with Katy Perry, while later on for a blistering finale, 112 and Mase with Jadakiss, Lil Kim and Bone Thugs in Harmony, and many more, took the stage to honor Notorious B.I.G
It’s really fun to be part of all this great music of late. From Katy Perry’s “Bon Appétit” video, to dressing Kima for this famous annual hip-hop fest, music is certainly in air round the Dawnamatrix design studio, as it always is in our hearts. And to be part of Summer Jam 2017, in the small way we were, when this year a legend like Notorious B.I.G. was honored, was an even bigger thrill.
