Might Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler Change The World?

We would certainly concur that it’s pretty much a slow news day when there is nothing being said about latex couture or alternative fashion. Alas, we have to take what we can then, hoping the latest Marvel movie or GoT report will feed our need or a new Taylor Swift, or Katy Perry video might reveal some interesting costume choices. This week the interesting couture news, benign changes as they might be, is what the net had for us.

As “The Big Bang Theory” wraps their 12 season run, Mayim Bialik (Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler on the show), marked the end with a new hairstyle…a new wavy bob she showed to the world this week on Instagram.

Having had to keep to some sort of haute couture decorum during her White House stay, ex-FLOTUS Michelle Obama flared the blog o ‘sphere this week while out promoting her book Becoming. Dressed in a Sergio Hudson pantsuit, it was quickly noticed, photographed and widely considered that Mrs. Obama was sporting a sexy silver bustier under her jacket.

While there is lots made of who wears what across the various red carpets of award shows, movie premieres and fashion events, Amal Clooney, like Michelle Obama, seems to have made the news this week with a change to her usual wardrobe. Celebrating husband George’s Catch-22 Hulu series release, Amal wore a very unconventional (for a red carpet walk) crop top of sparkling green matched to her skirt.

Surely our attention to details like those above reveals a particular fascination we all have with celebrity culture, to a greater or lesser extent. Still, what our best and brightest wear, and how they wear it, does influence and interest us and will continue to bring coverage from our news sources. It’s just sometimes the news we make, report, share, and salivate over is just a little less earth-shattering than other times.
