If you don’t know, Peter Jackson filled “The Lord Of The Rings,” and his Hobbit films, on a ‘living’ set built into a family farm in Waikato, New Zealand. In fact, Jackson’s WETA workshop was one of the sponsors of WOW and awards their own prize at the show.
We won the Technology Award for our Labyrinth Gown, an award that “recognizes a designer that explores and applies the most original and innovative technology to the construction and/or function of their wearable art garment.” And we also placed 3rd in the Red Category for our outfit The Messenger.
Latex outfits and animals is what Dawnamatrix has been about most recently. While we jet on over to New Zealand for the Wearable Art Show (and yes, there will be pictures and stories about this trip coming here soon) we have also been involved with some feathery as well as tough-hided friends.

Once again gorgeous ladies, latex couture and lots of other alternate wardrobe is on display as seen through the eye of Peter W. Czernich. In his “Fetish Beauties” photo exhibition, the man known as the brains behind Marquis Magazine, is presenting his unique prints and books at the Etienne’s Art Galerie in Luxemburg at the end of September.
We love presenting our pieces in none traditional fashion show spots. Inside or out, down a delineated runway, across cobblestones, in the wide expanse of a Car Museum, serpentine through hot cars, the intersection of fashion and culture is what we are all about.
Elephants and latex couture? Well, at the upcoming London Fashion Week, mighty pachyderms will be walking the runway showing their stuff and Dawnamatrix is part of the show.
