RAW:natural born artists is an independent arts organization that hand-selects and spotlights independent creatives in visual art, film, fashion, music, hair & makeup artistry, photography, models and performing art.

Wooster Street Social Club and ModVic, LLC are pleased to announce the opening of Mobilis in Mobili, an Exhibition of Steampunk Art and Appliance on Saturday, November 12, 2011. The exhibition will feature work from twenty artists who work exclusively to develop a range of artistic creations based in nostalgic aesthetics that harken back to Victorian craftsmanship by incorporating authentic vintage elements and salvage components with modern functioning devices. The exhibition will show case a wide spectrum of Steampunk art and appliance ranging from drawings and paintings to Steampunk Couture and jewelry, guitars and bicycles, curious timepieces, sculptures, desks, and entertainment systems. These whimsical assemblages fused with a innovative approach to engineering inspire a sense of historic intrigue, as though you have been transported in time, yet maintain a firm hold on contemporary culture.

Mobilis in Mobili Art Exhibit Gives Steampunks Some New Ink to Spill

Dawnamatrix garments are on display at the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation through January 10, 2012.

The Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation is the first museum in the country to feature an exhibit solely dedicated to the steampunk movement.   Steampunk, Form & Function offers an informational and interactive look into the world of steampunk and all that it encompasses including, fashion, literature, entertainment and much more.   On display visitors will find modern Victorian clocks, a steampowered top hat, GPS and iPods devices with gears and gages, and a grand piano.  They can shred paper, play with light, or sit back and enjoy a steampunk movie.

Steampunk, Form & Function opens October 31, 2010 runs through January 10, 2011.  Admission is $7 for the general public and $5 for seniors\students; admission is free for children under six.   The Museum is located at 154 Moody Street in Waltham, MA 02453.  For museum hours more information visit http://www.crmi.org or call 617 893 5410.

Dawnamatrix Designs Sponsors Fundraiser for Japan Disaster Relief Effort

Boston: Japan was more than just inspiration for Dawnamatrix Designs; for 3
years Dawnamatrix Designs founder Dawn Mostow lived and worked in Japan, calling it home. Feeling the need to give back to the Japanese people after the March 11^th disaster, Dawnamatrix Designs sponsored the I Heart Japan Fundraiser event at the luxurious Splash Ultralounge in Boston, Massachusetts on May 12^th.

Shiny and intricate latex styles inspired by Japan ranging from kimonos to gowns were on display in a fashion show. “We were really touched by the generosity and compassion of the attendees and the venue owner, who donated their space.  We were able to raise over $3000 for the Japanese Red Cross Society,” said the designer proudly.
