Tanabata, Festival of the Summer Stars

Tanabata Matsuri, the Japanese Festival of the Summer Stars, was held at the Boston Children’s Museum on August 5th. Dawnamatrix Designs presented a fashion show and performance based on the legend of Tanabata, a tale of two star-crossed lovers who also happen to be stars themselves, the weaver goddess Orihime (Vega) and the heavenly herdsman, Hikoboshi (Altair). The Boston Children’s Museum also features a 100 year old authentic silk merchant’s home, transported from Japan. We felt honored to be invited to perform at such a beautiful location.
